I compile one document monthly, to be privately released at the beginning of each, for an organization recognized among its insiders as "The Guild". That report is meant for the eyes of only about eighty persons, and consists of no more than around six pages each time. But, while this may sound like the secretive stuff of intrigue and plotting, aswirl peripherally to the secrets of some John Grisham tale, being the Newsletter Editor for the Canyon Lake Art Guild is seldom that dramatic.
It is now Tuesday, April 3rd, and this month's newsletter is mostly finished, but late. I have just sent out a "sneak peek" for our members. As I explained in the cover sheet for the PDF digital version...
"As I type this, I’m very ill. Not hospital ill... as far as I can tell. But either I’ve come down with some vicious and pernicious bug, or I ate something that really disagreed with and hates me, or my body has decided to turn itself inside out with randomly spontaneous and inappropriately enthusiastic cries of 'Ralph!'... Anyway, I just wanted you to understand that I’m not on vacation. Rather I seem to be undergoing some sort of extreme physiological upheaval... I’ve decided to send out the completed portions of the newsletter now, and to follow up with the complete newsletter ASAP, soon after. So this is NOT your newsletter, but rather a sneak peek."
So I remain trapped, for now, in this REALLY unpleasant vortex, this degrading and unpredictable state, ever maintaining a quick route of escape for accommodating these sudden, unforseen urgencies. But I've managed to keep my sense of humor.
But, here you are, electronically, reading this brief entry for today. In my first post to this new blog, you learned about my background, saw photos of my artwork from childhood onward, and learned just a little bit of what I'm up to now -- it was an Artist's Bio in progress, and, yes, a work still very much in progress, even retrospectively.
Today, I thought I'd share a link to my original blog, from years ago, on WordPress. This one link will give you a scroll of all entries, I believe. Which is important, because the old links internal to that site are mostly broken, having been created for my web domain, which no longer directs to WordPress. (I broke up with that service when I realized it wasn't a good fit for me and all I'm doing.)
